When you buy a preowned watch from one of our authorized dealer partners, your MyEssentialSwiss warranty card is your guarantee — full coverage from day one through year two.
All mechanical and automatic movement defects are fully covered — including the escapement, mainspring, gear train, and regulator. If the watch stops running due to an internal fault, we fix it.

Email us directly →When does my 2-year warranty start?
Your warranty begins on the date of purchase from the authorized dealer, as shown on your physical warranty card. Keep your card safe — it is your proof of coverage.
Does the warranty transfer if I sell the watch?
The warranty is tied to the watch and its original card. Email us at [email protected] to discuss transfer eligibility — in many cases it can follow the watch to a new owner within the coverage period.
What exactly counts as "wear and tear"?
Wear and tear refers to gradual cosmetic changes from normal daily use — case scratches, bracelet stretch, crystal micro-abrasions, and similar surface changes that don't affect the watch's timekeeping function.
How long does a warranty repair take?
Most repairs are completed within 10–14 business days of receiving your watch. Complex movement work may take longer — we'll communicate a timeline when we receive your piece.

A MyEssentialSwiss warranty certificate is not issued automatically. Before any dealer partner can attach one to a sale, the watch must pass a four-point inspection. This is what that actually means.
The dealer must document the last service date and confirm the movement has been cleaned, oiled, and timed within the past three years — or that a full service has been performed before sale.
Water resistance seals degrade silently. Every watch is pressure-tested to at least its rated depth. Failed seals are replaced before the piece is cleared — not disclosed after the fact.
Refinished dials, replaced hands, and aftermarket indices are common in the pre-owned market. We verify that all visible parts match the original factory specification for the reference and year.
The watch runs on a timing machine in multiple positions over a full day. Any movement outside ±10 seconds per day triggers a return to the watchmaker before clearance — even for watches not rated as chronometers.
Only watches that pass all four checks are eligible for a MyEssentialSwiss warranty certificate. If you have questions about a specific piece's inspection record, email [email protected].
Condition grading terminology — "mint," "excellent," "good," "fair" — is used inconsistently across the pre-owned watch market. One dealer's "excellent" is another's "good-plus." Before buying, it is worth understanding what these labels should mean, and what questions to ask when they do not come with documentation to support them.
At MyEssentialSwiss, our dealers use a standardized four-tier framework that ties condition to specific, observable criteria — not subjective impressions. Here is what each tier covers and what it implies about wear, serviceability, and value.
Never worn, original bracelet or strap, stickers may be intact. Movement has not been used since leaving the factory. Rarest category — genuinely NOS pieces from major Swiss brands are uncommon and command a significant premium over worn examples of the same reference.
Worn but carefully maintained. Case edges are sharp or only lightly softened. No deep scratches on the crystal, dial, or hands. Bracelet shows light surface wear but retains its original finish profile. No polishing work evident.
Honest wear consistent with regular use. Case edges may show rounding. Light scratches on the case and bracelet, possibly a hairline or two on the crystal. Dial and hands are clean. No damage. This is the most common grade for pieces that have been worn daily.
Significant surface wear — deep case scratches, pronounced bracelet stretch, possible crystal replacement. May show signs of prior polishing. Dial and movement should still be clean and original. Priced accordingly. Strong choice for collectors who intend to service and restore.
Condition and originality are separate questions. A watch can be in excellent mechanical condition while having non-original components — a replacement crystal, a re-lumed dial, an aftermarket bracelet. Our dealers disclose non-original parts separately from the condition grade. If you have questions about a specific piece, email [email protected] before purchase.
